Sourdough Bread ProjectIt all began on twitter in December of last year as Celia from Fig Jam and Lime Cordial inquired if I would be interested in receiving her sourdough starter, called Priscilla. Celia wanted to add more offspring to Priscilla’s expanding family tree and spread more sourdough love across the globe, by sending bloggers dried sourdough starters. As I waited patiently for the envelope to arrive, Celia ended up sending a second one (which arrived) and then a third, just in case… which arrived yesterday. Barmbrack | Irish Tea Bread

A recent visit to the beautiful tea plantations of Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka and buying some factory tea has inspired this post and had me in the kitchen baking a Barmbrack, a traditional Irish Tea Bread. Somewhere between cake and bread and not overly sweet, this homely moist loaf is packed with dried fruit plumped with tea. There seems to have been some procrastination this week and getting around to deciding what recipe to post has taken longer than usual. Thankfully looking through some old photographs gave me the push I needed and coming across this image of an apple hanging from a tree… Eve’s Pudding came to mind.
