Freshly brewed coffee and a thick slab of homemade cake is a homely welcome for friends and family coming over for a casual get together. Each of these homely cakes can be made the day before and stored in airtight containers… leaving you with plenty of time to take some pretty cups and plates out and brew a pot of your favorite coffee. Of course visiting cafés with friends (which I love to do) is a great way to relax and catch-up… but never quite as intimate as home.
