Winter Spiced Latte

winter spiced latte

Now that the days have turned somewhat colder, warm comforting drinks like this winter spiced latte are on the menu. Make it a tall, grande or supremo. You can make a healthier version and use soya milk, also leave out the whipped cream topping… however when it comes to comforting drinks… the full monty please!

Winter Spiced Latte

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of milk or soya milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin spice (refer to previous post for recipe)
  • 1 teaspoon soft brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup espresso or strong coffee
  • whipped cream (optional)
  • pure maple syrup (optional)

How to make:

Pour the milk into a saucepan and heat to almost boiling, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, pumpkin spice and soft brown sugar.

If you do not have an espresso machine make up some strong coffee instead.

Pour the espresso or strong coffee into a large mug and fill with the hot spiced milk. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and drizzle over some maple syrup.

A blog around my kitchen

SONY DSC

The kitchen is the heart and hub of our home, and it is where I spend the majority of my time each day. There is a comfortable chair in the corner of the kitchen where I can relax and unwind with a nice cup of coffee and a good cooking magazine.

I was thinking that I really need to sort through some of the ” kitchen paraphernalia” that has accumulated in my kitchen over the years. Drawers and cupboards brimming with cooking tools, bakeware, dishes and of course…food. I know I use most of these items but can I let some of it go? I’ll keep you updated.

(Up-dated) As of 2023 I still have most of the kitchen paraphernalia and have let go of very little and I seem to have accumulated more…lol!  If you happen to come across this post you can see some of the items in the “In My Kitchen” blog post archives. Enjoy the rummage through my kitchen. 🙂
